Frequently Asked Questions
What ages are your classes for?
All ages from walking toddlers to adults! Classes for kiddos participating without their parents on the gym floor start as young as 3 years old.

Kids 10 years or older automatically start in Level 2 classes regardless of experience level, as starting in Level 1 would have them mixed with too young of kids. With the coaches help, they will learn beginner skills quickly and tend to enjoy being with kids closer to their age. 8 and 9 years olds that are advancing through Level 1 skills quickly can move up to Level 2 classes.

Teen classes start from 14 years old, although there are multiple class offerings in the 11 year to 16 year old window that are not age based like the younger classes. If you have a preteen or teenager who doesn't know which class to join, please reach out to us to help assess which class they might enjoy most.
When do you offer camps?
We offer day camps during many of the weeks that WCCUSD and AUSD school's are off during the school year as well as the summer. You can find our schedule for camps in the year calendar below.
What's the difference between Gymnastics and Parkour class?
Our Gymnastics classes are your traditional gymnastics skills - Cartwheels, Handstands, Handsprings, Balance Beam, Bars, etc. Parkour is similar, but it removes the Pointed Toes, "Sticking" a landing, and has students performing moves for efficiency and landing to continue running into another skill. For example - Gymnastics will use the Bars to learn Pullover, Back Hip Circle, and Cast to Handstand. Parkour will use the bars to swing through, release and pass over an obstacle, then land and continue running. Gymnastics will use the Balance Beams to learn to do a cartwheel on the beam. Parkour will use the beams to practice jumping and landing on a narrow surface - called "precision jumping".
Both classes have their benefits, and are enjoyable for all ages. If you aren't sure which your child will enjoy, try out both!
...Now what's the difference between Parkour and Ninja?
"Ninja" typically refers to the obstacle course-style challenges seen on the namesake television show. The skills favor upper body strength, grip strength, and using mainly arms to swing & releasing between various obstacles, which can sometimes be unconventional in their design in order to present very unique and specific challenges.
Parkour favors running, jumping, leg strength and body flair to pass over common shape obstacles. Running along vertical walls to one-handed vault a high block, then land on the floor on the other side & shoulder roll to keep running. There are of course shared aspects between the two sports, and they can be similar at times and vary greatly at others.
Where is Action Arts within the building complex?
We suggest entering from Marina Bay Parkway if you have never been here before. You will see suite 31 directly from this entrance.
If entering from Meeker Avenue: turn Left. Make the 2nd Right turn and you will arrive at suite 31. There is abundant parking available at the back of the building.
Can guardians stay to watch the classes?
Absolutely! There is a seating area for parents! The downside is that it doesn't have open viewing of the gym floor due to the location of the bathroom, but we have a TV that streams a wide-angle of the whole gym.
When does my student move up to the next level?
When your student is ready for the next class level, their coach will let you know via an email or in person. You may also inquire with the front desk if they can be moved to the next level and their coach may approve or deny the request.
